In this section, you will find information about each subject area and any important events coming up. I will also include many pictures of what the students are working on each week.
Culture Feast! May 2018
The students have been learning about immigration both in reading and social studies. After learning about how others came to our country, it was time for students to focus on their own family story. Each student interviewed a family member to find out how, when and why relatives and ancestors came to this country. Many students commented on how much they learned about their own culture. Students created a Padlet to showcase this information and today, we had a Culture Feast, where students were able to bring in a food item from their country. A HUGE thank you to all the parents that cooked and shopped for this event! The food was delicious and many students shared about how fun it was to try new foods. Students have been presenting their Padlets to the class and will also share them with you the night of Round-Up (May 10). Padlet pictures to come!
Kyle Fuller of the Chicago Bears! April 2018
Kyle Fuller from the Chicago Bears came to Middleton today to present the Healthier US Gold School Award. Middleton really focuses on keeping all students healthy with great school lunches and everyday P.E! Students were able to hear his story and win prizes. It was an exciting time for us all!
The Museum of Science and Industry April 2018
We went to the Museum of Science and Industry to take part in the Future Energy of Chicago Exhibit. The students learned different ways that they could save energy, use alternative fuel sources and make responsible choices that could help the planet. We also had time to roam around and see so many exciting exhibits!
